Quality & Handling

Every retail product is independently tested by a third-party lab for identity, quantity and purity before it ships. This page explains exactly what we test, how to store your research compounds, and how to reconstitute them correctly.

01 — Testing Protocol

How we verify our products

No product enters our catalogue without completing independent third-party testing. Every lot is tested for identity, quantity and purity by Accumark Labs, and we publish the actual certificate on our Lab Results page rather than simply declaring a “pass.” Most certificates link directly to the lab’s own verification portal, so you can confirm the result at the source.

Test 01
🔬
HPLC Purity
High-performance liquid chromatography measures purity against a reference standard. The lab’s specification is >98.0%; we only list products whose tested lot comes in at 99% or higher. We publish the exact figure, not just a pass mark.
Lab spec: >98.0% · We list ≥99%
Test 02
🧬
Identity
The lab confirms the sample is the compound it claims to be, independently of how pure it is. A highly pure sample of the wrong molecule is still the wrong molecule.
Result: Conforms
Test 03
⚖️
Quantity
The actual content of the vial is measured and reported in milligrams, so you can see the real fill against the declared size rather than taking the label on trust.
Measured in mg
🏛️
Independent & Third-Party
Testing is performed by independent third-party laboratories — never in-house, never self-reported.
📋
Published for Every Product
Every tested lot has its own Certificate of Analysis, published on our Lab Results page — generic certificates are meaningless.
🔢
Verifiable
Each product page links to the lab report for its currently tested lot, and every report can be verified on the lab’s own site.
Test Method Specification
Identity HPLC Matches declared compound
Quantity Measured Reported in mg
Purity HPLC-UV 220nm >98.0% (we list ≥99%)

Additional analyses such as mass spectrometry or endotoxin screening are not part of our standard panel. Where a lot has had further testing, the certificate will show it. Actual results for every tested lot are published on our Lab Results page.

02 — Certificate of Analysis

How to read a COA

A Certificate of Analysis is the primary accountability document in research-compound supply. Where a product has completed testing, its COA is published on our Lab Results page. Here’s what each section tells you.

1
Lot code
A COA should be for a specific tested lot, not a generic certificate. Ours link from each product page to the current lab report, which you can verify on the lab’s own site.
2
HPLC purity — the key number
Look for the actual percentage, not just “pass.” The report above shows 99.99% against a >98.0% specification — comfortably within spec, not squeaking past it.
3
Identity & quantity
Identity confirms the sample is the compound claimed. Quantity reports the measured fill in milligrams — vials are typically filled slightly above the declared size, so you can see exactly what was in the one that was tested.
4
Verification code
The code in the header links to the testing lab’s own verification portal. That means you don’t have to trust our copy of the certificate — you can confirm the result on the lab’s site directly. Most suppliers host a PDF; a screenshot proves nothing.
03 — Storage Guidelines

Maintaining compound integrity

Improper storage is the most common cause of peptide degradation outside the laboratory. These guidelines apply to all Pacific Peptides lyophilized products unless the specific product page states otherwise.

🧊
Lyophilized (Sealed)
−20°C
Long-term storage
Shelf life: 24 months from manufacture at −20°C
Keep in the sealed vial until ready to reconstitute
Protect from light and moisture
Reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation
🧫
Reconstituted
2–8°C
Refrigerated · use within 28 days
Keep refrigerated — stable up to 28 days with bacteriostatic water
Use aseptic technique — wipe the stopper with 70% IPA each time
Do not freeze the reconstituted solution
Label with the reconstitution date; discard if cloudy
🚚
During Transit
≤25°C
Lyophilized powder is stable
Lyophilized peptides are stable at ambient temperature for standard Canada Post transit (2–7 days)
Refrigerate on arrival — don’t leave in a warm vehicle or mailbox
✓ Safe practices
✓
Freeze-thaw cycles on lyophilized powder — no degradation
✓
Aliquoting reconstituted stock and returning the remainder to the fridge
✓
Using bacteriostatic water to extend working stability to 28 days
✗ Avoid
✗
Freezing the reconstituted solution — ice crystals disrupt peptide structure
✗
Shaking or vortexing — gentle swirling only
✗
Reconstituting with tap water, saline, or unpurified solvents
04 — Reconstitution Protocol

Step-by-step reconstitution

Provided for qualified researchers conducting in-vitro research only. This is not medical advice.

1
Gather materials
Bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol), sterile syringe, 70% IPA swabs, and your sealed vial at room temperature.
Bacteriostatic water available as an add-on
2
Sterilise stoppers
Wipe the rubber stoppers of both vials with 70% IPA and allow to air-dry for 30 seconds. Don’t touch them afterward.
3
Add solvent slowly
Direct the liquid stream down the inside glass wall — never onto the lyophilized powder directly. Add slowly.
Aim at the glass wall, not the powder
4
Dissolve gently
Gently swirl — do not shake or vortex. The powder should dissolve within 60–120 seconds. The solution should be clear.
5
Label & store
Label with compound, date, and concentration. Keep refrigerated and use within 28 days.

Notes
Bacteriostatic water ✓
28 days
Recommended. 0.9% benzyl alcohol suppresses microbial growth for multi-use vials.
Sterile water
7 days
Acceptable for single-use. No preservative — use promptly.
Saline / tap water
—
Not recommended. Solubility and contamination risks.
